Rev. Neil Steven Lawrence, M. Div.
The hoped for end-time revival, if God really does bring it before the Rapture, will probably be of a different quality than most expect.
Every revival in history has been localized except maybe the Pentecostal outpouring at the turn of the 20th Century.
Will this hoped for revival be global?
Will the results of the Battle of Gog (Ezek. 38 & 39) in which God will show the whole world He has protected Israel bring about a revival? The rebuilding of the Jewish temple?
What is the purpose of a revival? Is it only to have yourself draw closer to God, repent of sin and be more dedicated? Or is it to fulfill His will to bring in the Harvest? (John 4:35) I believe most people look at revival only in personal terms not in Kingdom terms! Genuine revival should have Harvest impact not just personal impact.
The Holy Spirit could bring revival at any time so why doesn’t He? I believe it is because the hearts of people are not ready for it. God can make the hearts of people ready for revival by bringing a tribulation! (war, famine, ‘viruses’, etc.)
In the end we will see that the Great Tribulation was actually God’s mercy upon mankind by bringing multitudes out of their demonic stupor. (Rev. 9:20-21) Only when you are ready to die for Christ can you truly be said to be in revival. (Rev. 7:9, 14) Many heads will roll then. (Rev. 20:4)
